CAPIO Human Resource Development

In line with the Carmelite Prisoners’ Interest Organization (CAPIO) 2019-2023 Strategic Development Plan, human resource development is essential for improved productivity and motivation of CAPIO staff. Capacity development and staff welfare are two components of CAPIO human resource development which were not ignored in 2021 activities.
Staff Capacity Development
Through weekly Learn and Share session, the staff and management of CAPIO conducted step-down trainings in various fields. Asides from the learn and share sessions, CAPIO management and staff were trained by a corporate communications expert, Ms. Christal Ogene. The training focused on branding, letter writing formats, internal corporate communication and communication with stakeholders, as well as social media optimization.
The management and staff of the Carmelite Prisoners’ Interest Organization (CAPIO) wishes to use this medium to appreciate Ms. Christal Ogene for her labour of love and support to CAPIO in various capacities.
Team Building Exercise
Workplace productivity is attained through healthy work culture and mutual corporation among staff. With that knowledge, CAPIO annually organize a staff retreat (team building exercise) which is an avenue for staff and management to relax and bond outside workspace, learn new skills and gain insight about the personality of colleagues.
The CAPIO 2021 team building exercise held in Umuahia, Abia state. CAPIO staff and management toured the National War Museum and Ojukwu’s Bunker. The team building exercise aided friendly interaction and cooperation among staff who participated in games and other activities.
The team building exercise was rounded-off with a visit to the Cinema and Barbecue night-out.
