CAPIO MEETS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF EDUCATIONAL ZONES IN ENUGU STATE
Criminal activities are on the rise in Nigeria. These activities which are the bane of morals, has eaten deep into the very fabric of our society. With this awareness, CAPIO saw the need to initiate a crime prevention program which she sees as imperative and in line with her vision and key strategies. This crime prevention initiative birthed the Project; Mobilization of Vulnerable Youths against Criminal Activities in Enugu State, funded by Misean Cara.
To kick-start this sensitization program, a meeting with the Chief Supervisory Principals and Guidance/Counselors in Enugu State was thought necessary by CAPIO Team. The Purpose is to introduce the project to them as representatives of all Secondary Schools in Enugu State; distribute Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and the project’s key deliverable “Youth Arise; A Guide to a Fulfilled Youthful Life” Manual which will be used as study pack in this project.
The Highlights of the meetings with the various educational zones:
UDI EDUCATIONAL ZONE
The meeting held at Community High School Ngwo. The Chief Supervisory Principal (CSP) Udi Zone, Chief F.C. Chibogu gave a welcome address, were he welcomed all participants to the meeting while thanking MISEAN CARA for funding this crime prevention initiative.
A brief insight into the project that necessitated the meeting was given by Mr. Chuks Nwangu, Program Officer, CAPIO. Mrs. Clara Innoeze, Clinical psychologist, CAPIO engaged participants with topics embedded in the “Youth Arise” manual. Suggestions were made by participants on effective ways of utilizing the manual in schools.
The CSP assured CAPIO of the zone’s full compliance and cooperation in ensuring that the
manual is used effectively in the zone.
To ensure effective implementation of the manual, Coordinator, Guidance/Counsellors Udi Educational Zone, Mrs. Ani Tessy, instructed participants to include topics from the manual in their syllables and make monthly reports on the implementation.

NSUKKA EDUCATIONAL ZONE
The meeting held at St. Theresa’s College, Nsukka. 76 (seventy-six) representatives of schools in Nsukka Educational Zone met with CAPIO Team led by Mr. Chukwuwike Nwangwu, Program s officer, CAPIO. The meeting which had in attendance Principals, Guidance and Counselors was to key the representatives into the project and also to distribute the “Youth Arise” manual alongside other Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
The Chief Supervisory Principal of the Zone, Chief Eze Johnson, while giving his remarks thanked CAPIO for taking this proactive step in curbing the menace called crime. He went further and urged representative to join CAPIO in her fight against crime and be active ambassadors in their various schools.

AGBANI EDUCATIONAL ZONE
CAPIO Team met 32 representatives of Schools in Agbani Educational Zone of Enugu State, at the Community Secondary School Agbani, Enugu. The Team led by Mr. Chukwunwike N. Nwangwu, Program Officer, CAPIO, introduced to them the “Youth Arise” manual which is a key deliverable of the project “Mobilization Against Criminal Activities in Enugu State” funded by Misean Cara.
The meeting was to give more light on the project and ways CAPIO intends to disseminate Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials to the schools in the zone.
The Chief Supervisory Principal of the zone, Mr. Samuel Ani, appreciated CAPIO for her fight against crime. He promised to use the manual in equipping the Guidance/Counselor in their leadership workshop so they can impart the knowledge to students in their various schools.
