Gender COP

Community of Practices (CoP) were created by grantees of Voice Nigeria focused on various thematic project areas, out of the various COPs, CAPIO belongs to Gender community of Practice, Elderly care and social justice, which is in consonance with our interventions. CAPIO Nigeria attended Gender Justice Community of Practice monthly virtual training on Friday 28th July 2023.

Building on the need for Gender Based Violence advocacy among inmates, with a bid to curb GBV offence from ex-inmates and the need to sensitize female inmates who may have been victims of GBV, CAPIO Nigeria joined in a peer learning event organized by Global Initiative for Development and Care of Women and Youths (GIDCOWAY).

The event bothered on dismantling harmful gender norms and stereotypes, fostering women in leadership, equipping them with empowerment skills, and advocating for their rights across all societal levels. It was an opportunity for stakeholders within the gender-based violence to learn and share experiences, of which CAPIO actively participated.
