Inmate Christmas Party

Christmas season reminds Christian faithful about the birth of Christ, most importantly, it is a period for charity to the less privileged in the society. In keeping with the season, the Carmelite Prisoners’ Interest Organization (CAPIO) in collaboration with the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. C.V.C Onaga annually organize Christmas party and Mass for inmates in Enugu Command of Nigerian Correctional Service.
Due to COIVD-19 restrictions in Custodial Centers, Christmas Mass didn’t hold in 2020, however, the narrative was different this year. The 2021 Christmas party started with a Mass celebrated by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. C.V.C Onaga.
The love and joy of Christmas celebration reached inmates as cooked Christmas rice and drinks were provided for inmates in Enugu Custodial Center by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese and Carmelite Prisoners Interest Organization (CAPIO), respectively. In the same vein, the love of Christmas celebration was replicated in Nsukka Custodial center as Carmelite Priests visited with toiletries, bags of rice, noodles, food items and drinks.
The Carmelite Prisoners’ Interest Organization (CAPIO) appreciates the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. C.V.C Onaga and everyone who contributed to the success of the Christmas party. May you not be stranded in life.
